Tip: Use photos with solid areas for accurate picks.
The Color Picker runs entirely in your browser to keep images private and the workflow fast. Click 'Upload image' or drag a local image (JPEG, PNG, WebP) into the upload area. After the image appears, move your mouse over it to show the loupe — a rounded magnifier with a subtle grid that zooms into the exact pixels under the cursor. Position the loupe over the pixel you want and click to pick the color; the hex value shows in the picked-color panel and is copied to your clipboard automatically. You can also press the Copy button to copy the current hex manually; a brief confirmation message appears. The tool samples a simple palette across the image — click any swatch to set and copy that color. For best results, use images with solid, uncluttered color areas; high compression or noisy textures can make sampling less stable. Remote images without CORS permissions may block pixel reads; if the loupe or palette is disabled, save the image locally and upload that file. Everything is client-side for privacy and speed — zoom with the loupe, click to pick, and use swatches to gather representative colors quickly.
